RESPONSIBLE JEWELLERY COUNCIL (RJC) CODE OF PRACTICES 2019

The Code of Practices 2019 (COP) is an initiative that defines standards throughout the Gold Jewellery supply chain of responsible, ethical, social, and environmental practices.
W.R. Cobb adheres to the RJC Code of Practices standard, which can be found on the RJC website for the latest updates.
We conduct thorough due diligence on all our suppliers to ensure compliance with the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and the OECD Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Supply Chains of Minerals from Conflict-Affected and High-Risk Areas.

ISO 14001:2015 ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

At W.R. Cobb Company, we are committed to developing and adhering to practices that promote environmental well-being. By leveraging our expertise and leadership within the industry, we provide customers with gold and platinum products manufactured using recycled precious metals. This recycled-content claim is supported through documented supplier approval, supplier recycled-material declarations, incoming material review, ERP traceability, and inventory control procedures.

On January 1, 2006, the United States Department of the Treasury enacted the requirement of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) programs for all dealers and retailers in precious metals, precious stones or jewels to detect money laundering and the financing of terrorism under the USA Patriot Act (“Act”). The Act’s purpose is to require dealers and retailers, with sales and purchases in excess of $50,000 per year, to monitor its transactions and ascertain the identity of business partners. Dealers and retailers are not formally considered financial institutions” under the Act and must implement an AML compliance program.
CALIFORNIA’S LEAD-CONTAINING JEWELRY LAW
– COMPLIANT
W.R. Cobb Company does not intentionally add lead or cadmium to any of our products. Incoming materials and production melts are carefully checked for lead and cadmium content. Products you purchase from W.R. Cobb Company do not contain a level of lead or cadmium that would prohibit the product from being sold or offered for sale pursuant to Article 10.1.1 Chapter 6.5, Division 20, of the California Health and Safety Code (Sections 25214.1-25214.4.2).
DODD-FRANK ACT
– COMPLIANT
Section 1502 of the Dodd-Frank Act requires companies to disclose whether any of the products manufactured or contracted to be manufactured by the company contain conflict minerals that originate in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) or have an internationally recognized border with DRC and include Angola, Burundi, Central African Republic, Republic of the Congo, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zambia.
W.R. Cobb Company complies with this legislative guideline by only accepting gold from refiners on the Responsible Minerals Initiative (RMI) Conformant Gold Refiners list.
